When people travel or study in other countries, they have confused, surprised, and offended feelings because of the culture shock. First, eating styles cause the culture shock. For example, people have different tastes of food and cooking style; moreover, people in UK usually eat junk food, like pizza, sandwiches etc. As a result, international students should eat a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables. A second cause of the culture shock may be language. Learning a new language is tiring for people. For example, people will miss their mother tongue when they learn the second language. In addition, English pronunciation in the UK and other countries’ pronunciation differ; therefore, people found difficult to understand and disconcerted to ask them to say again what they have said. Finally, native behaviors cause the culture shock. Every country has their native behavior that is unspoken rules. For example, it is important that people in the UK should attend meetings on time, such as business meetings, academic lectures. If you will be late to attend meetings, you must tell your partner. Furthermore, making an appointment to watch movie at 8pm means arriving at 8pm; however, to visit other people’s home people should be late 10 minutes but not over 20 minutes. To sum up, if people pay attention to the culture, they won’t feel confused, surprised and offended.

Moving Home

Today, I helped my friend to move her home. She immigrated to Canada, and her family bought a house, so today I went to her home and move her home. She has much stuff. We droved the car to carry her stuff 4 times. At last time, we ride her bikes to go to her new home. I like to ride the bike because I always ride the bike to go to school in my hometown. China is a big riding bike country and many people like to ride the bike to go to anywhere. On the dinner, we ate sushi and BBQ chicken wing in her old home. When I arrived at my home, I feel very tired. Today is an interesting day.

Disneyland

On 14 Feb, 2007, I went to Hong Kong with a travel agent because I wanted to go to the Disneyland. When I was a child, I had a dream that I would go to the Disneyland in the future. However, all of the Disneylands were build abroad, and I didn't have the Visa to travel the other countries. When the Disneyland was build at Hong Kong, I was very happy. It was so easy to go to the Disneyland. The Disneyland in Hong Kong is the smallest one in the all of world. I took many pictures with the cartoon characters. I also bought many gifts for my friends, which all things had a logo of Mickey Mouse. I saw a Disneyland celebrity parade, I saw all of cartoon characters, and I made a video for this parade. When the sky was dark, the fireworks began in Disneyland. I hadn't seen so beautiful firework before I went to the Disneyland. I was so surprised. The fireworks showed many cartoon characters' faces. I like Disneyland, and I want to travel other Disneylands in USA. This travel brought a wonderful experience for me.

It is also important that you don’t forget to read the business part of the newspaper or some magazines. Also, you can make some face to face opportunities to get a job, such as join the companies’ activities. Don’t forget to send your resume. Fifth, prepare for the interview. It is crucial that you have enough preparation to display yourself, and make employer know you like this job and his or her company. For example, you should do some inquiries about this company before you go to interview. You can get this information from the internet, the local library, etc. It is important to remember be on time, wear formal dress, and keep good attitude. Finally, don’t give up. The job marketplace looks like a contest; you must keep a good attitude to exceed other applicants. It is important that you apply for many jobs because you will get many interview opportunities to get a job. By the time you retire, you will have had a good job in this competitive career marketplace.

My friend went backe China, today. On Saturday, I went shopping with her. She wanted to buy some gift to present her family members, like her sisters, her nephew and her parents. She has two old sister, so she has two nephews now. I suggested she should buy soft toy to give her nephews. Then we went to Metrotown because the bulid-a-bear workshop in Metrotown, and this shop is very famouse in Vancouver. Especially, you can put soft stuff in the bear boby by yourself, and you put a heart in the bear boby. It is very interesting. We make two happy bears for her nephews. Finally, we went to the crystal mall to eat some food. We ate many food, and ate a bowl of 8 mix iced. The 8 mix iced is very dilicious, you can choose 8 kinds of food in your iced. If you like to eat iced, you should go to crystal mall to try this one. I am sure you like and enjoy it. I have a different Saturday, and I enjoy it.

My Boring Weekend

I have a boring weekend in this week. I didn't do anything. I just were staying at home two days. On Saturday, I was sleeping all the day, expect I talked with my parents to use computer. On Sunday, I think I must finish my homework, so I waked up early. I started my homework, then, I ate my breakfast and lunch. Afternoon, I continues to sleep, I don’t know why I always want to sleep. I think I should have a wonderful weekend, but I always had a boring weekend. I hope I will go shopping with my friends at next weekend.
