Everyone wants to get a job, but they sometimes don’t know how to get a job. First, assess your strengths and the career marketplace. You should write down your strengths, abilities, and achievement. After this, you should select jobs that you want to do. It is important that you accumulate experience from different jobs. For example, you can be a volunteer to get experience, and it is very helpful for you to get a job. Second, get a social insurance (SI) card. It is very significant that you have the SI card, because no employer wants to employ people without the SI card. You can apply and get SI card from the nearest Human Resources Centre of Canada. Third, write a formal resume. It is more important to help the employer to clearly notice your strengths, abilities, and achievement, so you must write a formal resume. If you don’t know how to write a formal resume, you can find some organization to help you, like the career centre, or your school student placement office. Fourth, look for a job and submit your resume. You can find a job from the local newspaper and some magazines. It is also important that you don’t forget to read the business part of the newspaper or some magazines. Also, you can make some face to face opportunities to get a job, such as join the companies’ activities. Don’t forget to send your resume. Fifth, prepare for the interview. It is crucial that you have enough preparation to display yourself, and make employer know you like this job and his or her company. For example, you should do some inquiries about this company before you go to interview. You can get this information from the internet, the local library, etc. It is important to remember be on time, wear formal dress, and keep good attitude. Finally, don’t give up. The job marketplace looks like a contest; you must keep a good attitude to exceed other applicants. It is important that you apply for many jobs because you will get many interview opportunities to get a job. By the time you retire, you will have had a good job in this competitive career marketplace.
